In its commitment to increasing fraternization between IKAM & its like minded organizations, this year, representatives from Research Center for Islamic Economics (IKAM) have visited various Islamic Economics and Finance Organizations in different parts of the world.
The latest in the series of these visits was our representative for International Affairs, Ahsan Shafiq’s visit to University of Management of Technology (UMT), Pakistan on Thursday, Oct. 19, 2017. Our rep was invited to UMT’s Institute of Islamic Banking where he was briefed about the department’s commitment to developing Islamic Economics & Finance studies. Besides Ahsan Shafiq, the meeting was graced by Dean IIB, Dr. Rukhsana Kalim where senior faculty from the department was also present.
Ahsan Shafiq briefed the participants in detail about IKAM’s emergence, its aims, objectives, goals and activities. He presented a gift to Dean IIB on behalf of President IKAM, as well as IKAM’s introductory material and copies of our journal, TUJISE. Faculty from UMT appreciated IKAM’s fast pace of progress in a limited time and expressed their interest in undertaking joint projects. To initiate these mutual collaborations, a draft MoU was agreed upon to be signed shortly.
